ONWARD

It had over taken him, like a sweet summer rain softly pouring from the sky. The hour had come to walk through the trees and step into the moss covered hollow that had once been the home of his dear little friend. He heard the sound of the wind blowing through the green glades and the haunting sound of the dark sky rolling over from the high mountains.

He walked on, not looking behind him to the black city that screamed of nightmares and sinister voices. They would not find him, not once he passed through the hollow. Even with their blood hounds and tall horses, his scent would fade into nothing as if he never existed.

“Onward.” He whispered. “Onward towards a greater world.”

One that was not filled with black kings, witches and dragons. One where he could be free. One where he could sing the song they had tried to silence through imprisonment and torture.

“Onward.” He whispered. “Onward towards a greater world.”
